About the Series
Now in it’s 12th year on PBS, the Caverns Sessions (formerly Bluegrass Underground) is taped deep within a unique subterranean amphitheater beneath Tennessee's majestic Cumberland Mountains.
Season 1 funding by Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Gibson Foundation (Gibson Gives), and Grundy County.
This 16-time EMMY award-winning "musical adventure" series features long-established, as well as America’s emerging artists, in a broad spectrum of genres to include Roots-Rock, Jam Band, R&B, Country, Soul, Folk and Americana—deep down diverse sound from the underground!
Season 12 featured artists include Allison Russell; Sierra Ferrell; Harley, Kimbro & Lewis; The Lil Smokies; Watchhouse; Iron & Wine; Peter Rowan; Cedric Burnside; Della Mae; Darin & Brooke Aldridge; Bill Miller; and The Kitchen Dwellers.
